Bye America!

In less than 8 hours, I'll be getting on a plane to .... Los Angeles! (And then I'll get on another plane to Taipei.)

I'm really excited to get to see Andrew again after 8 months. A lot has happened since last summer--we both started new jobs, Andrew survived two weeks of boot camp, Taiwan elected its first female President... It'll definitely be a different visit this time around, because I only have two weeks and some of my family is coming with me! It'll also be interesting to go back at a time of year when Taipei isn't sweltering (although apparently I'm missing the winter bubble tea flavors).

There are a lot of things I missed about Taiwan, like the $1.50 bubble teas, plump stray cats, and clean subway stations. (The garbage trucks that play Fur Elise, I could probably do without.) I'm looking forward to seeing if anything's changed.

This isn't a super substantial blog post, but I'm going to publish it before I write anymore because I still have to finish packing and don't need another distraction.
